One of my favorite store bought products is the Gullah brand products for a quick easy dinner and tonight I find that I robbed the rice from the gumbo kit so as it stands the Arborio risotto container stands nearby and would have to do to fill in to complete the gumbo dish.

The kit has the ingredients for the roux and dehydrated seasonings and vegetables so to that I am adding fresh okra, fresh shrimp, and andouille sausage. Sounds about right, but we shall see about the risotto that I’ll make as Creole tasting as possible…from a good cooking friend recipe I’ll steal the butter and Bay Leaf ingredients and maybe add a touch of Creole seasoning to the rice and hope for the best. I will use chicken bone broth for the risotto liquid and dips of the gumbo broth instead of water as in the Creole rice instrutions.

Enjoy…skip the grill on the fourth, buy 2 bags of Gullah Gumbo and have a party!
